DAY 2 OSLO

Deep in a 100km-long Fjord, the Norwegian capital is the smallest in Scandinavia according to its population (500 000 inhabitants) but the widest according to its surface area of 454 km². Oslo is not an impressive European capital but offers secure, young and modern atmosphere with living culture. It’s a charming human-scale capital edged by water and surrounded by wooded hills. Sport is an important part as the city offers a lot of maritime installations and aquatic equipment, Golf and Tennis courts, bicycle paths and skiing pistes.
Day at leisure to explore the city on your own or you can buy in advance our Optional Private City Tour: a 3 hrs city sightseeing of this vibrant capital city starting at 10:00 a.m., with local guide and private car at your disposal.
The optional city tour includes the Frogner Park, with all sculptural Vigeland, the museum of Viking ships (entrance not included), showing three original Viking Age ships, the Royal Palace, City Hall and Akershus Fortress.

DAY 3 OSLO - BERGEN

Meeting with our transfer assistant and transfer by private car to the train station.
Boarding on the train from Oslo to Bergen. The journey takes around 7 hours and it allows you to discover some of the most beautiful landscapes in Norway, while being comfortably seated in 1st class compartment.

DAY 4 SOGNEFJORD

Day at leisure to explore Bergen on your own or you can buy in advance our Optional Private City Tour: a 3 hrs city sightseeing, with local guide and private car at your disposal.
Join a 3 hours guided tour through Norway´s second largest city: Bergen is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful cities in the country. Surrounded by seven mountains, the city has not really been able to extend outside of this natural nest. It is probably for this reason that it has retained its character, its incomparable charm and the extraordinary atmosphere that reigns there.
Discover the Hanseatic wharf and the old town. From 1350 to 1830, Bergen became one of the four European Hanseatic centers, associations of trading cities in northern Germany, in order to promote the penetration of the commercial stream into the Slav world and to find outlets to the North Sea, Scandinavia and Western Europe for products from the Baltic.

In the late afternoon, transfer to the harbour and board Le Bellot ship, to start your luxury cruise along the Norwegian fjords.

DAY 5 ÅLESUND & GEIRANGERFJORD

Your first port of call will be Ålesund (arrival 08:00 – departure 12:30)
Surrounded by a multitude of islands, fjords and majestic mountains, the town of Ålesund surprises many visitors. In fact, it is internationally renowned for its Art nouveau architecture. After the terrible fire of 1904 which reduced a large part of the town to ashes, Norwegian architects inspired by the Art nouveau style contributed to its reconstruction, with a very picturesque result. Not far from Ålesund, you will also discover Giske, the native island of Rollon, the great Viking leader who commanded the Norse expeditions to Normandy, or the beautiful island of Godoy and the village of Alnes, which offers a grandiose panorama over the Atlantic Ocean and the surrounding islands.
After Ålesund, it will be time for cruising the Geirangerfjord, one of Norway's most narrow and impressive fjords that is dominated by a huge rock wall from which gorgeous waterfalls with original names such as the" 7 sisters ". This unique fjord is exceptionally beautiful, which is why it is inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

DAY 6 OLDEN

Today you will stop in Olden arrival 08:00 – departure 14:00), a small village with undeniable charm. With its two wooden churches, one red and the other white, plus its breathtaking view of the mouth of the river Oldeelva, Olden looks just like a picture post card.
Located a few kilometres from the Jostedalsbreen park, home to one of the last glacier polar icecaps, this little village is a definite must for exploring the blue languages of the Briksdal or Kjennalen glaciers. Make sure you find some time to visit the Norwegian Glacier Museum. Absolutely amazing.
Another gem is lake Lovatn and its turquoise waters inviting you to quiet contemplation.

DAY 7 FLÅM

Today, Le Bellot will call at Flåm (arrival 08:00 – departure 18:00), one of Norway’s most spectacular natural sites. This small village is located along a branch of the Sognefjord, the world’s second longest fjord and also the deepest, with a maximum depth of 1,308 metres. You will be simply astounded as you sail amid the steep mountains and cascades.
Nestled in the heart of the fjord country, less than 200 kilometres from Bergen, the picturesque village of Flåm – pronounced Flôm – offers you an experience of authentic Norway.
You can mosey around the brightly colored streets and admire the majestic contours of the surrounding mountains. The town is also the departure point for the mythical train route Flåmsbana, 20 kilometres long, whose journey offers a superb view of the scenery, as sublime as it is pristine. This attraction makes Flåm one of the country’s main tourist destinations. (Flåmsbana is available on Option).

DAY 8 ULVIK

About 150 kilometres from Bergen, the little town of Ulvik (arrival 13:30 – departure 19:00) is one of the rare pearls in the county of Hordaland, in the south-west of the country.
You’ll find it tucked away in one of the quieter Hardanger fjords. Why not spend a quiet interlude in its orchards, between the apple and cherry trees.
All around, a spectacular landscape of mountains with steep rock-faces culminate in a 1,000 metre high altitude – a paradise for walkers.
On the mountainsides, a few scattered farmsteads stand witness to the region’s farming activity.
At their feet, gentle hills of silky green tumble into the cobalt seas.

DAY 9 STAVANGER & LYSEFJORD

At the far end of the country, stands the harbour town of Stavanger (arrival 07:30 – departure 13:00), with its warm, friendly atmosphere. A friendliness you’ll notice in the little old town cobbled streets, which has some 170 old wooden houses, as well as in its modern city centre, always bustling.
​
In the afternoon, you will you will sail into the heart of one of Norway’s most breathtaking fjords, its marvellous décor dominated by pristine nature, between vertiginous granite cliffs, crystal-clear waters and luxuriant vegetation. Very close to Stavanger, the quiet waters of Lysefjorden stretch out over around forty kilometres, beneath impressive rocks. Admire the world-famous site of Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock), a majestic cliff in the shape of a pulpit that rises to more than 600 metres above the waters. A bit further on, Flørli, from the top of its 4,444 steps, is the world’s longest wooden stairway, whereas the Kjerag, with its mythical boulder wedged between two rock faces, provides an unusual and unforgettable spectacle.

DAY 10 DAY AT SEA

During your day at sea, make the most of the many services and activities on board. Treat yourself to a moment of relaxation in the spa or stay in shape in the fitness centre. Depending on the season, let yourself be tempted by the swimming pool or a spot of sunbathing. This day without a port of call will also be an opportunity to enjoy the conferences or shows proposed on board, to do some shopping in the boutique or to meet the PONANT photographers in their dedicated space. As for lovers of the open sea, they will be able to visit the ship’s upper deck to admire the spectacle of the waves and perhaps be lucky enough to observe marine species. A truly enchanted interlude, combining comfort, rest and entertainment.

DAY 11 COPENHAGEN

Connected to the far eastern side of Sealand island, a few kilometres away from the Swedish coasts, Copenhagen offers you the high colour of Scandinavian capitals. Arrival and transfer to your hotel.

Day at leisure to explore Copenhagen on your own or you can buy in advance our Optional Private City Tour: a 3 hrs city sightseeing of this vibrant capital city, with local guide and private car at your disposal. During your tour, you will be successively passing by the canal district, the City Hall (Radhuset), the Christiansborg Castle, seat of the Danish Parliament, the Kongens Nytorv Square where you’ll see the Royal Theatre then the charming Nyhavn District with its old colourful houses, the new Opera, Børsen (the old Stock Exchange), the old and the new library (known as the Black Diamond), the great Gefion Fountain and finally a look at the famous “Little Mermaid”.

DAY 12 COPENHAGEN

Departure for Hillerød and visit of the majestic Frederiksborg Castle, “the Danish Versailles”, built in 1625 by King Christian IV. Continuation to Fredensborg Castle, Royal palace and the summer residence of the Queen.

Continuation towards Helsingør to admire Kronborg Castle which inspired Shakespeare’s Tragedy « Hamlet ».

On the way back to Copenhagen, you’ll take the coastal road and contemplate the nice houses.
