DAY 1 ARRIVAL TO DENMARK - COPENHAGEN

Arrival to Copenhagen Airport, meet & greet by your private driver
and transfer to your hotel, located in the city centre of Copenhagen

Rest of the day at leisure to explore Copenhagen on your own or you
can buy in advance our Optional Private City Tour: a 3 hrs city
sightseeing of this vibrant capital city, with local guide and private car at your disposal. During your tour, you will be successively passing by the canal district, the City Hall (Radhuset), the Christiansborg Castle, seat of the Danish Parliament, the Kongens Nytorv Square where you’ll see the Royal Theatre then the charming Nyhavn District with its old colourful houses, the new Opera, Børsen (the old Stock Exchange), the old and the new library (known as the Black Diamond), the great Gefion Fountain and finally a look at the famous “Little Mermaid”.

DAY 2 COPENHAGEN

Enjoy another day to discover Copenhagen on your own, or buy our Optional 7 hours Private Excursion to the Castles of Zealand:

Departure for Hillerød and visit of the majestic Frederiksborg Castle, “the Danish Versailles”, built in 1625 by King Christian IV. Continuation to Fredensborg Castle, Royal palace and the summer residence of the Queen.

 

Continuation towards Helsingør to admire Kronborg Castle which inspired Shakespeare’s Tragedy « Hamlet ».

 

On the way back to Copenhagen, you’ll take the coastal road and contemplate the nice houses.

DAY 3 COPENHAGEN – LE JACQUES CARTIER CRUISE

Morning at leisure for shopping or relaxing in one of the many beautiful parks in the city centre of Copenhagen.

In the late afternoon, transfer to the harbour and board Le Jacques Cartier ship, to start your luxury cruise along the Baltic.

DAY 4  DAY AT SEA

Breakfast on board.

During your day at sea, make the most of the many services and activities on board. Treat yourself to a moment of relaxation in the spa or stay in shape in the fitness center.
Depending on the season, let yourself be tempted by the swimming pool or a spot of sunbathing.
This day without a port of call will also be an opportunity to enjoy the conferences or shows proposed on board, to do some shopping in the boutique or to meet the PONANT photographers in their dedicated space.
As for lovers of the open sea, they will be able to visit the ship’s upper deck to admire the spectacle of the waves and perhaps be lucky enough to observe marine species. A truly enchanted interlude, combining comfort, rest and entertainment.

DAY 5  TALLINN

Your first port of call will be Tallinn (arrival 13:00 – departure 17:30)
Opening onto the Baltic sea, to the far north of Estonia, the town of Tallin will win you over with the picturesque charm of its architecture. You can meander through its little streets in the heart of the medieval centre where its gothic town hall has been standing since 1404. The Kiek in de Kök tower, the Orthodox Alexander Nevski cathedral, or Toompea castle give visitors a taste of this town’s rich past. The city was particularly active during the medieval period, as is demonstrated by the very beautiful monuments from this period that are still visible. Don't hesitate to lose yourself in the heart of Tallinn, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

DAY 6  ST. PETERSBURG

This morning you will wake up in St. Petersburg (arrival 09:30 – night docked). Founded in 1703 by Tzar Peter the Great, Saint Petersburg has kept its original aura and is still one of the world’s most beautiful cities. It is listed as a UNESCO world heritage site.
Bathed by the waters of the Neva, the “Venice of the North” boasts an impressive wealth of historic and artistic features. From the emblematic Nevsky Propect, the city’s main thoroughfare, exploring the city by foot is a pleasure.
With its baroque cathedrals, imperial palaces, suspended bridges, theatres and museums, Saint Petersburg is a jewel of a city.

DAY 9  HELSINKI

Seated in the southern peninsula of Finland, Helsinki (arrival 09:00 – departure 15:00) offers the buzz of a cosmopolitan city that has opted for both elegance and beauty. Explore its historical centre where the soft hues of neoclassical buildings are juxtaposed with spectacular modern constructions.

DAY 10  VISBY

Arrival in Visby (arrival 12:45 – departure 17:45).
This old Hanseatic city lies to the west coast of Gotland, a Swedish island in the Baltic sea. Pass through the spectacular Visby fortifications and visit the old town, a UNESCO World Heritage site. You’ll discover the grand Visby homes of rich merchants as well as the lovely low wooden houses in the little cobbled streets. Don’t miss Saint Mary’s cathedral with its octagonal steeples, as well as Powder tower along the fortifications. Make sure you stop over in one of the rose-adorned cafés; indeed roses abound in this town where you can taste one of the island’s specialities, namely saffron pancakes with red fruit.

DAY 11  STOCKHOLM

Welcome to The Kingdom of Sweden!
The capital of Sweden occupies an archipelago in the east of the country at the junction of Mälar Lake and the Baltic sea. In Gamla stan, meaning “old town” in Swedish, you can stroll at your leisure in picturesque medieval streets until you reach the majestic Royal Palace. On the green island of Djurgården, you can visit several very different kinds of cultural centres: the Vasa museum is dedicated to a 17th century three-mast, the ecomuseum of Skansen presents traditional customs, and the ABBA museum is dedicated to the legendary pop group. For a fantastic, all-encompassing view of Stockholm, you can take a ride in SkyView, a glass-encased sphere gondola that takes you to the top of the world’s largest building, the Ericsson Globe, a Stockholm landmark.

Visit Skansen Park, outdoor museum which redraw the Scandinavian housing evolution. Built in 1891, it’s the oldest museum of this kind in the world, with 150 houses, bungalows, churches, farms and manors coming from all over Sweden and animated brought to life by staff in period costume. One can also find a reconstitution of a Lapp village.
Continuation to visit the Vasa museum to see the Vasa ship which was built in 1628 and sank during its launching in Stockholm Harbour. Refloat in 1961, he was remarkably refurbished and give a great vision of the naval life in the XVIIth century. The seven floor museum enable to admire this unique prestige ship from every angle.
