For your convenience, the tour starts and finish in Reykjavik (Iceland) and it includes flights from Keflavik to Nuuk and from Ilulissat to Keflavik.

DAY 1 ARRIVAL IN REYKJAVIK  (ICELAND)

Welcome to Iceland

Arrival in Nuuk and transfer to the hotel (included).

According to your arrival time, meet & greet by your guide and transfer by VOS bus or Flybus Plus regular shuttle (according to the number of pax arriving) towards your hotel in the city center of Reykjavik.

Take your time to stroll along the cosy streets of this small capital city, that it is also one of the northernmost capitals in the world.

On option: Relax in the geothermal waters of the popular Blue Lagoon, on your way from the airport to the hotel. The entrance to the lagoon includes a silica mud mask, a towel and 1 drink.

DAY 2  REYKJAVIK - NUUK (GREENLAND)

Nuuk is a city of vitality, surrounded by immense nature and filled with vibrant Greenlanders leading fascinating lives of old traditions, modern twists, and diverse influences.

DAY 3 NUUK

In the morning, 3 hours city tour of Nuuk including light lunch with tapas from Greenland.

​

The tour starts at the National Museum. Here you find artifacts from all periods and civilizations in Greenland. After approx. ½ hour the walk starts in the colonial harbor where the houses stand like when they were built 2 to 300 years ago. We pass old whale blubber process equipment, Hans Egedes House, the sculpture of “The mother of the sea” in the tide zone and the statue of Hans Egede by the old church. On to the open-air market where newly caught fish, seal and reindeer are sold. Next the walk takes you past the Greenlandic Parliament to the culture center Katuaq in the middle of town. In this beautiful building local artist often exhibit during summer. The tour ends in the café at Katuaq, Cafétuaq, where Greenlandic tapas are served. The plate contains tastings of different kinds of dried fish and meat, along with shrimps, scallops and other local quality food products.

DAY 4  NUUK - CRUISE ALONG THE WEST COAST

In the morning, join an easy Art Walk with our tour leader. You will follow a trail made of local art exhibits, all outdoors located, starting from outside Nuuk Art Museum.

​

Nuuk Art museum has created an art walk around the city of Nuuk. Discover the spaces and the art works in the city in a route between Nuuk Art Museum and the colonial harbor. You can find redfish, icebears, seals, Greenlandic legends and myths interpreted and let loose in the city of Nuuk. Maybe you will find a hidden path, your own way or follow the footsteps of others.

Afternoon at leisure for relax, shopping or optional activities: what about an exciting helicopter tour above Nuuk?

​

In the late afternoon we will embark on Safarq Ittuk boat for a 3 days cruise along Greenland West Coast from Nuuk to Ilulissat.

​

DAY 6  AASIAT - ILULISSAT

08:30 – 09:00 Short stop in Kangaamiut.

 

Approaching Ilulissat Fjord, Ice will be the main highlight of the cruise.

Without any doubt, cruising between giant icebergs it will be a real life experience. The sight of these enormous ice sculptures it will not be an opportunity to admire the natural beauty of this place, but it tells also a lot about the ancient history of our planet and the highly debated concerns about the climate change.

 

17:00 Arrival in Ilulissat and transfer to the hotel.

DAY 7  ILULISSAT - SEMERMIUT HIKE - MIDNIGHT SUN CRUISE - ILULISSAT

In the morning, enjoy a panoramic tour of Ilulissat including a Walk to Sermermiut Settlement. Beautiful icebergs are the setting for the old settlement Sermermiut, located one and a half kilometers south of Ilulissat. For 4000 years, different Inuit cultures lived in the settlement and today you can still see many remains that indicate their presence. A trip to Sermermiut is an absolute must when visiting Ilulissat, hear the guide tell stories about Inuit people’s life and traditions before the Europeans came to Greenland. See turf hut ruins and touch the permafrost with your own hands. An area so special that UNESCO named it World Heritage in 2004. We follow the walkway to the viewpoint at Nakkaavik - "the place to fall" (Old Ladies Gorge), here our guide serves tea or coffee while we enjoy the view, then we return by the same route.

​

In the evening, we will have one more chance to cruise between the icebergs, this time with a smaller boat and we will also experience the beautiful Midnight Sun of Greenland.

DAY 8  ILULISSAT - REYKJAVIK

According to the flight schedule, transfer to the airport by shared bus service and connection flight to Iceland.

​
