DISCOVER DENMARK IN A WAY YOU NEVER IMAGINED!

The country of the little Mermaid is more than its capital, Copenhagen. During this tour, you will discover a surprising as well as unknown country in terms of its culture, history and design. You will also meet the Latins from Northern Europe. The other “flat country” is waiting for you, ready to surprise you.

DAY 1 Discovery of Copenhagen

Discover the Danish capital and its charming canals, the City hall square, the Christiansborg castle where the government is sitting, Kongens Nytorv where the National Theater is located, the picturesque area of Nyhavn – a canal leading to the heart of the “chic” city center (there you can still find merchants’ old and colorful houses, and Andersen used to live at n°67) and the Amalienborg Castle, the royal family’s residency.

 

You will also admire the splendid Gefion fountain before making a stop at the “Little Mermaid”, sitting by the sea on its granite block and looking faraway.

DAY 5 The rune stones of Jelling

Breakfast at the hotel.

 

Take the road to Jelling, famous for its rune stones site located within a few kilometers on the West side of Vejle. One of the most important building from the Vikings’ era can be found near Jelling’s church.

​

Departure for Viborg, where you will be able to admire the biggest granite church in the whole Northern Europe. You will then continue to Ålborg and its necropolis Lindholm Høje with 700 sculptures, which is one of the most famous archeologic sites from the Vikings’ era.

DAY 6 Skagen where the seas meet

DAY 2 The castles of Zealand 

Breakfast at the hotel.

 

Departure for Hillerød. You will first discover the Frederiksborg castle and its chapel before continuing to Fredensborg, the royal family’s residency in summer, where you will make a stop. You will then drive towards Helsingør alongside the coastal road Strandvejen.

Stroll around Helsingør ending at the Renaissance castle Kronborg, which was built in 1500 and used by Shakespeare to host the tragedy of Halmet.

DAY 3 Vikings of Roskilde

Breakfast at the hotel.

 

Departure for Roskilde, which celebrated 1000 years in 1998. There you will be able to visit its cathedral, part of the UNESCO World Heritage. Follow the Vikings’ path, from 793 to 1069, and pay a visit to the Vikings Ships Museum located alongside the fjord. The museum exposes, among others, the longest war ship ever found - 31 meters long.

Next, you will cross the Storebælt Bridge linking Sjælland to Fyn.

DAY 4 Andersen's fairy tales

Breakfast at the hotel.

 

Today you will have the possibility to visit the castle Egeskov, with a touch of Renaissance style (1554). This fortress’s name refers to the thousands of oak-tree stilt on which it was built, in the center of a lake surrounded by various gardens, as well as a bamboos labyrinth.

Departure for Jammer Bay in Northern Jutland. You will pass by the lighthouse Rubjerg Knude, standing on an impressive 90 meters high cliff from where you will enjoy a speechless scenery. The next stop is Skagen, a picturesque town that inspired Danish painters from the 19th century.

​

Continuation towards Grenen, a spectacular site located in the most Northern point in Denmark. This is where the North and the Baltic Seas meet.

DAY  7 Århus Old Town

Breakfast at the hotel.

 

Head to Hobro and the Viking center Fyrkat, one of the four more important fortresses in the country. You will then continue in the direction of Århus and visit the Old Town (Den Gamle By), whose houses have been reproduced identically, contributing to the maintenance of the atmosphere of a commercial town as it once was.

DAY 8 Return cruise towards Copenhagen

Breakfast at the hotel.

Cross Denmark by ferry back to Zealand.

Arrival at Odden and continuation towards Copenhagen.

Return to your home country.
